Elize (singer)
Elize (born July 22, 1982 in Utrecht ; mostly written EliZe , actually Elise van der Horst ) is a Dutch singer .
biography
Elize grew up in the Bussum community . At the age of eight she became a member of "Kinderen voor Kinderen", the children's choir of the Dutch broadcaster VARA . She was a member of the choir for seven years. Six albums were created during this time. After leaving, she joined the musical choir Non Stop , which broke up after a year and a half. Elize was then invited by the VARA program managers to take part in the “Kinderen voor Kinderen” theater tour. She later appeared in Amsterdam in performances of the musicals Chicago and Les Miserables by the cultural student association CREA.
In 2004 she recorded an album in Denmark . Two singles, Shake and Automatic (I'm Talking To You) , first hit the charts in their home country; the second single with some delay also the German one. On October 6, 2006, their debut album In Control was released . Her second album, More Than Meets The Eye , was released in June 2009, but was not a great success. The singles from the album ( Lovesick , Hot Stuff and Can't You Feel It ) were only minor hits in their home country. With the single Lovesick she reached number 1 in Bulgaria.
