Elmershagen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elmershagen was a residential area in the Prussian province of Pomerania . It was laid out in 1838, but abandoned around 1900 and has been desolate ever since .

The living space was the property lady of the goods 1838 Schwerin , Henriette of Pfuel , as a new Vorwerk applied. Henriette von Pfuel, née von Wedel , was the wealthy widow of the Prussian general Karl Ludwig von Pfuel, who died in 1826 . She had taken over the dilapidated Schwerin estate in 1827 from her younger brother. Henriette von Pfuel developed the Schwerin estate into a powerful company. The plant of this Vorwerk belonged to the series of their measures.

Henriette von Pfuel had the Vorwerk built in the northeast of the Schwerin estate near the country road leading from Daber to Labes. It was about 500 meters northeast of the older Kreutz Vorwerk , about 3 kilometers northeast of the main Schwerin estate. 81 acres of land were added to the Vorwerk, namely 74 acres of heathland, which had to be cleared, and 7 acres of meadow.

Henriette von Pfuel named the new Vorwerk Elmershagen. The place name came from the former village of Elmershagen, which burned down in 1690 and in the place of which the Vorwerk Kreutz was later laid. Henriette von Pfuel's request to return the place name Elmershagen to Vorwerk Kreutz was rejected in 1839. The new Vorwerk was given the name Elmershagen for this.

In Elmershagen there were 10 residents in two houses in 1874 and 16 residents in 1885. Ultimately, however, Elmershagen turned out to be too small and was abandoned around 1900 and the residential buildings were demolished. Nevertheless, Elmershagen was still formally managed as a residential area of the Schwerin municipality in the Regenwalde district until 1945 .

The desert is now in the area of Gmina Węgorzyno (urban and rural municipality Wangerin) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland , directly on Voivodship Road 146 .
