Elsa Bland

Elsa Bland ( April 16, 1880 in Vienna - September 27, 1935 there ) was an Austrian opera singer ( soprano ) and singing teacher .
Life
Bland, who was tutored by Marianne Brandt , began her stage career in 1903 in Olomouc as "Fidelio". She was then in Magdeburg from 1904 to 1905, and in Altenburg (Thuringia) from 1905 to 1906. In 1905 she made a guest appearance at the Vienna Court Opera and then sang there from 1906 to 1908. After that she worked as a guest on various stages until she returned to the Vienna Court Opera for another season in 1912. Afterwards she continued to work as a guest, u. a. 1910 and 1911 at the Scala in Milan and the Teatro Regio in Parma. In 1909 and 1911 she was a guest at the Teatro Regio in Turin as "Isolde" in Tristan , from 1920 to 1924 again as a guest at the Vienna Court Opera and in 1923 at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires as "Elektra" by Strauss and in Wagner roles. After the end of her stage career she works as a singing teacher in Vienna. She was married to the Austrian Rittmeister Barthelmus.
