Else Meier
Else Meier , née Else Wagener , (born February 24, 1901 in Magdeburg , † August 2, 1933 in Berlin ) was a German politician (KPD).
Life
Else Meier attended elementary school . Then she worked as a metal worker. By 1932 at the latest, Meier had her place of residence in Berlin-Wedding.
Meier joined the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) after the First World War . From 1932 to 1933 she was a member of the Prussian state parliament.
In the Reichstag elections of March 1933 Meier was a candidate of the Communist Party for the constituency 4 (Potsdam I) in the Reichstag elected. However, due to the Nazi persecution of communists that began with the fire in the Reichstag in February 1933, she could no longer take up her mandate. On March 30, a few days after the Enabling Act was passed , Meier, like all other communist MPs, was dismissed by law.
The circumstances of Meier's death are not clear. In research, violent assault by SA members is considered possible as well as death due to illness.
