Elvira Possekel

Elvira Possekel (born April 11, 1953 in Cologne ) is a former German athlete who - starting for the Federal Republic - won the silver medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal (42.59 p , together with Inge Helten , Annegret Richter and Annegret Kroniger ). In the 100-meter run of these games, she was eliminated in the intermediate run.

She also took part in the 1974 European Championships ( 200-meter run ) and the 1978 European Championships (100-meter run and 4-by-100-meter relay), but without medal successes. At the European Indoor Championships in Munich in 1976, she won bronze in the 60-meter run.

Elvira Possekel was a member of LC Bonn until 1974 , then LG Bonn-Troisdorf until 1976 and then SV 04 Bayer Leverkusen . In 1977 she won the German championship in the 100 meter run. In her active time, the 1.60 m tall athlete had a competition weight of 49 kg. She first graduated from a university of applied sciences with a degree in social education and then studied sport at the Cologne Sports University.
