A Pocket Loox 500 series PDA

Loox, or more precisely Pocket Loox, was a PDA series from Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC). The devices were only available in Europe , Russia and the Middle East ( EMEA ) as only Fujitsu was active outside of this region . A smartphone series was also available under similar names and designs . The production and sale of the Loox models was discontinued in autumn 2007.

Loox 720

On September 1, 2004, Fujitsu Siemens launched the Pocket Loox 720 on the market. He was among the first VGA - Pocket PCs and was with Windows Mobile shipped in 2003 SE.

Plans that initially provided for the Loox 700 series to be delivered with Windows Mobile 5.0 or to offer an upgrade to the new operating system version were discarded because the hardware does not support the operating system's "persistent storage" function.

The Pocket Loox 710 is very similar to the Pocket Loox 720, but is a bit "weaker" than this one.

In January 2005 the Pocket Loox 718, the 3rd member of the 7xx series, was launched. Except for the missing camera, this is identical to the Pocket Loox 720.

Navigation devices

Two navigation devices were also introduced under the Loox name, but they did not run under Windows Mobile, but under Windows CE 5.0. These were available in stores until 2007 as handy navigation devices with a 2.8 inch touchscreen and the Navigon 6 navigation software. It was delivered with map material from 2006. In addition, multimedia programs were implemented so that the devices could also be used as MP3 and video players. The Loox N110 had an internal memory of 2 gigabytes, the externally identical Loox N100 had no internal memory, but like the Loox N110 had a miniSD memory card slot. SDHC cards are not supported.
