The Ely nunatak is a small and dark colored nunatak in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In the Prince Charles Mountains it rises 6 km north of Mount Izabelle .
Its position was determined in 1971 by geodetic intersection measurements from several surveying stations. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after John H. Ely, technical surveyor in the 1971 campaign as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions to survey the Prince Charles Mountains.
