Emanuel Bunzel

Emanuel Bunzel (* 1828 in Prague ; † 1895 ) was an Austrian physician and amateur paleontologist .

Bunzel earned his doctorate in 1854 probably at the German University in Prague Dr. med. et chir. He practiced as a doctor in Vienna. Until 1881 there was an entry about him in the Vienna address book. From 1872 to 1895 he was a spa doctor in Bad Gastein . Bunzel described the reptile fauna of the Gosau Formation . In 1871 he described the Struthiosaurus austriacus .

In his will, he bequeathed 250,000 guilders to charities in his hometown of Prague, which were to be distributed evenly between Jewish and Christian institutions.
