Emanuel Hermann

Emanuel Hermann or Herrmann (baptized on May 13, 1608 in Schlossrued ; † late 1664 or early 1665 in Bern ) was a Swiss civil servant or politician .

Hermann became a Kornschreiber in 1637 , Welschseckelschreiber in 1640 , in 1642 Oberlehommissionär der Welschen Lande , sat on the Bern Council of Two Hundred from 1645 and became Governor of Saanen in 1658 . In 1664 he was renovator of the land registers (this is a special archivistic and notarial task).

Among other things, he created the two-volume work Antiquités du pays de Vaud and a collection of genealogical and historical notes on western Switzerland .
