Emanuel Schultze
Christoph Emanuel Schultze (born January 25, 1740 in Probstzella ; † March 9, 1809 ) was a German Pietist and Protestant missionary .
Life
Schultze was ordained a missionary on June 30, 1763 in the court chapel of Wernigerode Castle and sent to Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Pastor Johann Friedrich Handschuh in Philadelphia in 1765 . From 1771 until his death he was a pastor in Tulpehocken Township ( Berks County , Pennsylvania).
He married Eva Elisabeth Mühlenberg (1748–1808). Their son was the US politician John Shulze .
