The Emerald Lake is a small lake in the west of Signy Iceland in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It is located around 1 km southeast of Jebsen Point .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the lake on December 20, 1974 after its emerald green color, which is unique to Signy Island's waters .
