The Emigrantkyrkja (German: Emigrantenkirche ) is an Evangelical Lutheran church that has been transferred from the USA to Sletta on the island of Radøy ( Norway ).

history

The church was originally built as Brampton Lutheran Church as the parish church of Lutheran immigrants from Norway in Brampton ( Sargent County ) in North Dakota , USA . The foundation stone was laid in 1908, the completion in 1921. In 1960 a fundamental renovation was carried out. In 1997 the church in Brampton was closed and rebuilt true to the original in Sletta on the island of Radøy. Today it forms part of the West Norwegian Emigrant Center there . It was consecrated anew at the same time and also serves as a parish church.
