Emil Kirschbaum Medal
The Emil Kirschbaum Medal is a merit medal that is awarded for merits in thermal process engineering . It is named after Emil Kirschbaum , who, as the founder of thermal process engineering, is seen as a separate discipline.
The medal is awarded at least every three years by ProcessNet , a joint project between DECHEMA and the Association of German Engineers ( GVC department ), to people who have brought about new and essential knowledge in thermal process engineering. The application of research in industrial practice is also to be promoted, particularly in the case of processes for scale-up .
