Emile Delperée
Emile Delperée (born September 15, 1850 in Huy ; † November 9, 1896 in Esneux ) was a Belgian genre and history painter and art teacher.
Born Emile Daxhelet, son of Pierre-Emanuel Daxhelet and orphaned in childhood, he was adopted by the Delperée family at the age of seven and has had their surname ever since.
Delperée studied in Liège at the Académie royale des beaux-arts de Liège with August Chauvin and Charles Soubre.
He married the daughter of his professor Soubre. On February 11, 1885 he was appointed professor of painting at the Liège Art Academy.
In 1886 he created the wall paintings in the foyer of the Palace of Justice in Liège, and in 1888 in the great staircase of the Provincial Palace in Liège.
