Emile Hertling Péronard

Emile Hertling Péronard (* 1979 in Copenhagen ) is a Greenlandic - Danish film producer .

Life

Péronard is the son of the Dane Paul-Philippe Péronard (* 1950), whose great-grandfather was a French emigrant, and the headmistress Gitte Hertling (* 1954). Through his mother he is a grandson of the Greenland politician Knud Hertling (1925-2010). He is married to the artist Bolatta Silis-Høegh (* 1981), daughter of the photographer Ivars Sīlis (* 1940) and the artist Aka Høegh (* 1947). The couple have two children.

His production company Ánorâk Film is based in Nuuk and Copenhagen . He produced the musical film Sumé - The Sound of a Revolution about the Greenlandic band Sumé , who played an important role in the autonomy movement in the 1970s and 1980s. The film premiered at the 2015 Berlinale and was presented at over 80 other festivals. Emile Hertling Péronard was also co-producer of the film Lykkelænder by Lasse Lau , the award-winning film at the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival CPH: DOX 2018, and the film Aquarela byWiktor Kossakowski (2018).

Emile Hertling Péronard is a key player in the development of Greenlandic film , he is a member of the Association of Greenlandic Filmmakers FILM.GL and the Arctic Indigenous Film Fund, as well as the Arctic Chills and Stories from the Ice associations of film producers and directors throughout the Arctic region .
