Emilio Sala Francés (born January 20, 1850 in Alcoy , † April 14, 1910 in Madrid ) was a Spanish painter.

Sala studied in Valencia with Plácido Francés , in the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando . In 1871 he first took part in the National Art Exhibition of the Academy. Until 1890 he devoted himself mainly to history painting, then more to genre painting, landscape painting and book illustration. His works have been reproduced many times.

He took part in the decoration of the Palacio de Anglada and the Palacio Mazarredo in Madrid as well as the disappeared Café de Fornos . In 1906, a professorship for theory and aesthetics of colors was created for him at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Fernando. Sala has received numerous medals and awards.
