Emily Cross

Emily R. Cross (born October 15, 1986 in Seattle ) is an American foil fencer .

The New York-based Cross starts for the New York Fencing Club. In 2003 she was world champion student. At the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo in 2003 , she won the silver medal. In 2005 she became the North American individual champion. In the same year she won gold at the Junior World Championship. She repeated this success in 2006. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing , she reached 17th place in the individual and won the silver medal with the team.

Cross graduated from The Brearley High School in 2004 and has been studying biology at Harvard University since then . She is the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Cross and has a brother, Sam , who fights for the Harvard team. Emily Cross is trained by Mikhail Petin . She also plays softball as a midfielder for Team Zoggeystyl in New York.
