Emily Grace Thater (born February 1, 1995 in Springfield ) is an American volleyball player . The middle blocker played in the German Bundesliga for Erfurt and Aachen. In the 2020/21 season she will play volleyball in France for Vandœuvre Nancy .

Career

Thater began her career at Kickapoo High School in Springfield. She studied at the University of Missouri from 2013 to 2017 and played on the university team Tigers. The middle blocker then moved to the German Bundesliga club Schwarz-Weiss Erfurt . In the 2017/18 Bundesliga season , the club finished next to last, but stayed in the league. The same result came the following year . In 2019, Thater moved to league competitor Ladies in Black Aachen . In the 2019/20 season she reached the quarter-finals of the DVV Cup and the European Challenge Cup with Aachen . When the Bundesliga season was canceled shortly before the playoffs, the Ladies in Black were in seventh place in the table. In the 2020/21 season, Thater will play volleyball for the French club Vandœuvre Nancy .
