Emmanuel "Manny" Muscat (born December 7, 1984 in Melbourne ) is a Maltese football player from Australia . The defender is under contract with New Zealand's A-League club Wellington Phoenix .
Career
Muscat played in the Victorian Premier League for Sunshine George Cross and the Green Gully Cavaliers from 2004 to 2008 . In the summer of 2008 he trained with Wellington Phoenix and after a serious knee injury from Vince Lia at the beginning of the season, he received a so-called “short-term contract”, which was valid for the entire season. In December 2008, Muscat signed a professional contract with Wellington for the 2009/10 season.
In May 2009 Muscat was called up for the first time in the national team of Malta , the homeland of his parents. In the friendly against the Czech Republic, he made his international debut on June 5.
