Emmanuelle Polack

Emmanuelle Polack (born 1965 in Paris ) is a French art historian and author.

Life

Emmanuelle Polack studied art history in Paris and Montreal. She worked as an assistant at the Musée des Monuments français and has been with the Institut national d'histoire de l'art (INHA) in Paris since 2012 . She researches the German art theft in France during the German occupation from 1940 to 1944 and opened up Rose Valland's archived diaries. In 2017 she curated an exhibition in Paris on the art trade in France during the Vichy regime .

Polack also writes books for children and young people and wrote the historical scenario for an illustrated book about Sophie Scholl .
