Emmerich Haas

Emmerich Haas (born October 23, 1896 in Pinkafeld ; † August 20, 1955 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and locksmith. Haas was married and from 1946 to 1949 a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Haas was born as the son of the innkeeper Michael Haas from Pinkafeld and attended elementary school in Pinkafeld. He then took up the profession of locksmith, did military service during the First World War from 1914 to 1918 and was subsequently employed as a mechanic and later as a foreman in a textile factory. Between 1944 and 1945 he was drafted into the Volkssturm at the end of World War II .

In 1945 Haas played a leading role in the development of the ÖVP party organization in the Oberwart district and represented the ÖVP in the Burgenland state parliament between January 4, 1946 and November 9, 1949.
