Emmy von Bomsdorff-Leibing

Emmy Olga vom Bomsdorff-Leibing (born March 16, 1886 in Leipzig as Emmy Leibing , † after 1936 and before 1977) was a German writer .

Life

She was the daughter of the Leipzig publisher Theodor Leibing and his wife Elisabeth nee Jacobi. Her father had moved to Leipzig from Posen. After attending the secondary school for girls, Emmy Leibing completed commercial courses and undertook dramatic studies in Leipzig. She then went on extensive educational trips at home and abroad to America. As a writer, she specialized in women's issues.

She was a member of the Reich Association of German Journalists and Writers in Frankfurt am Main as well as in the sacrificial ring Freedom Association and in the German Women's Association.

Emmy von Bomsdorff married the ten years older opera singer and theater director Herbert von Bomsdorff-Bergen . The marriage ended in divorce, after which her ex-husband entered into two more marriages. Their son Hans Egon was born in 1906 in Cologne on the Rhine.
