Emy's non-fiction award

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The EMYS Non-Fiction Book Prize has been awarded in Potsdam since 2013 and is the only monthly non-fiction book prize for the best titles from children's and young people's literature . The annual award winner is chosen from the twelve monthly awards.

Award criteria

The EMYS is awarded to special, technically competent and attractively prepared non-fiction books for children from the age of six or young people.

history

There is a large number of prizes for children's and young people's literature in Germany; there is no monthly award that explicitly deals with non-fiction books for children and young people. The City and State Library (SLB), known for its children's and youth library, and the proWissen Potsdam association, which wants to convey science in a popular way, join forces in January 2013 and start awarding the Emys in cooperation with the Arbeitsgemeinschaft von Jugendbuchverlagen eV (avj). The media partners are PotsKids and the children's magazine Geolino . The namesake for the non-fiction book award is the European pond turtle Emys orbicularis.

jury

The jury for EMYS is made up of: Simone Leinkauf (proWissen Potsdam e.V.), Ulrike Clausen (proWissen Potsdam e.V.), Katharina von Ruschkowski (GEOlino), Ronald Gohr (Potsdam City and State Library), Nicole Luft (PotsKids !)
