Nikolaus Bastel

Nikolaus Vorteilel (* 1967 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber ) is a German journalist and author .

Live and act

After completing his Abitur at the Reichsstadt Gymnasium Rothenburg ob der Tauber, he did his community service in Göttingen in 1986 . There he began training as a foreign language correspondent for English and Spanish and as an interpreter for Spanish in 1988. From 1989 to 1995 he trained as an editor at the German School of Journalism in Munich, combined with a double degree in journalism and Romance studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. In the meantime he received a research grant from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1994 at the Spanish National Library in Madrid. Since 1995 he has been a freelance journalist a. a. active for Bayerischer Rundfunk , Deutschlandfunk and the German press agency . His main focus is health policy. His journalistic versatility manifests itself, among other things, as an author of books for young people and a travel guide.

Usefulel lives in Munich with his wife and two children.

Awards

His first book for young people, Sprach or Was den Mensch zum Menschen, was named "Best Junior Knowledge Book 2007" by the Austrian Ministry of Science. It was also nominated for the 2008 German Youth Literature Prize. 7 Ways to Get Rich - 7 Ways to Get Poor was also awarded as "Best Junior Knowledge Book 2011" by the Austrian Ministry of Science. "My grandpa, his wooden leg and the Great War" was nominated for the 2014 German Youth Literature Prize.
