Enderby Plain
Coordinates: 60 ° 0 ′ S , 40 ° 0 ′ E
The Enderby Plain (English for Enderby Plain , also known as Enderby Abyssal Plain ) is an abyssal plain in the Southern Ocean . It extends between 55 and 63 degrees south latitude and between 29 and 55 degrees east longitude.
British Discovery Investigations scientists aboard Discovery II discovered the plane in the 1930s. Soviet scientists on board the research ship Ob explored it between 1957 and 1958. The name is derived from that of the East Antarctic Enderbyland and was confirmed in June 1988 by the US Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF).
