The Dukovany repository is located in the Heřmanice u Rouchovan district of the Rouchovany municipality in South Moravia in the Czech Republic .

Low-level and medium-level radioactive waste from the reactors of the Dukovany nuclear power plant is brought to the near-surface repository on the site of the nuclear power plant . It was put into operation in 1995 and is located about 500 m east of reactor block 4. It consists of four rows of segments and has a total capacity of about 55,000 m³ (corresponding to 130,000 barrels). This is likely to be sufficient to ensure that, during the entire operating time, i. H. to collect waste from all Czech nuclear power plants by around 2020. The storage facility was designed in such a way that it could later also receive decommissioning waste.
