Endres II. Hirschvogel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Endres II. Hirschvogel (* 1513 in Nuremberg ; † November 12, 1550 there ) was a merchant, grandson of Lienhard II. Hirschvogel and son of Endres I. Hirschvogel, nephew of Lienhard III. Deer bird ; himself the last representative of the Hirschvogel patrician family, which died out with him .

The tragic decline of the Hirschvogel patrician dynasty took place with the person of the young Endres II, even through no personal fault for the decline of the trading house. He had to turn down the inheritance of his father Endres I. His uncle Lienhard III. (Builder of the Hirschvogelsaal ) had left Nuremberg in 1538 due to excessive indebtedness. Endres II initially earned his livelihood from the sale of inherited household items, until on June 12, 1549, the city council issued him the "Certificate of Poverty". For the last few years the nobleman hired himself out as a servant to the innkeeper Bittrolt. The last entry in the Hirschvogel chronicle comes from an unknown hand: "Endres Hirßvogel the young died single anno domini 1550 on November 12th, to the god genedig sy."
