The Endurance Glacier is the largest glacier on Elephant Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It flows north of Mount Elder in a south-easterly direction towards the coast.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1971 after the Antarctic patrol ship HMS Endurance , which anchored several times at the mouth of the glacier from 1970 onwards.
