The Energie Graz GmbH & Co. KG (formerly Stadtwerke AG) is a Styrian energy provider based in Graz .
In 2015 Energie Graz sold 991 GWh of electricity, 953 GWh of natural gas and 1,045 GWh of district heating and achieved a turnover of around 190 million euros.
history
Energie Graz was founded in 1960 as Grazer Stadtwerke AG. District heating began to be supplied just three years after the company was founded.
In 1998 the thermal direct service of Energie Graz was founded. Due to the liberalization of the electricity market, Energie Graz GmbH was founded in 2002.
It represents the spin-off of the energy divisions from Grazer Stadtwerke AG. In 2003 the company was reorganized into Energie Graz GmbH & Co. KG.
The subsidiaries Stromnetz Graz GmbH & Co. KG and Solar Graz GmbH were founded in 2006.

Energy Graz electricity is 100% free of nuclear power and CO 2 neutral.
District heating
The company supplies around 61,000 households in Graz with district heating.
Light and energy services
This division of the company is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, repair and operation of lighting systems. In addition, the company has been responsible for the city of Graz's Christmas lights for years.

Solar Graz
Solar Graz is a 100% subsidiary of Energie Graz and has specialized in generating electricity from solar energy and hydropower. In addition, the natural electricity produced regionally in Graz is sold. This is generated by photovoltaic systems and mini hydropower plants.
Stromnetz Graz GmbH & Co. KG
Due to the legally prescribed separation of electricity trading, generation and distribution activities within the meaning of the Electricity Industry Act (ElWOG), the electricity distribution network area was outsourced to Stromnetz Graz GmbH & Co. KG on January 1, 2006.
Heating direct service Graz
Energie Graz's direct heat service, called "WDS" for short, is the competence center for the development, planning and construction or provision of innovative energy supply projects and services.
