Energy electronics technician
Energy electronics technician was a state-recognized apprenticeship from 1987 to 2003 . The training was completed after three and a half years with a theoretical and practical test at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry . This profession was replaced by an ordinance of July 3, 2003 ( Federal Law Gazette I p. 1144 ) from other industrial electrical professions, especially through the training for
- Electronics technician for building and infrastructure systems ,
- Electronics technician for industrial engineering and
- Electronics technicians for automation technology
replaced.

Content
The contents of the training were:
- Manufacture of mechanical parts and connections
- Assembling and interconnecting modules
- Laying and connecting lines and cables
- Measurement of constant and alternating quantities
- Testing, measuring and setting of assemblies and devices
- Assembling, wiring and installing energy technology systems
- Assembling, wiring of control technology assemblies
- Preparing and completing assembly work
- Assembly and installation of signaling and lighting systems as well as electrical machines and control devices
- Commissioning of plants
- Maintenance of power engineering systems
