Engelbert Miss

Engelbert Miś (born January 13, 1943 in Alt Schalkendorf , Upper Silesia ) is a Polish journalist who belongs to the German minority in Poland . For many years he was editor-in-chief of the magazine Schlesisches Wochenblatt .

From 1966 to 1982 Miś worked as a journalist for Słowo Powszechne and from 1983 to 1991 for the weekly Katolik , both of which are part of the country's Catholic press. After the political change in Poland in 1989 , Miś began to work for the German minority in Upper Silesia . He headed the newspapers of the Social-Cultural Society of Germans in Opole Silesia , the Oberschlesische Nachrichten and the Oberschlesische Zeitung . He was also the company's press spokesman. From the 1990s to April 2010, Miś was editor-in-chief of the Schlesisches Wochenblatt , the German-language newspaper with the highest circulation in Poland.
