Enrique Bertrix

Enrique Bertrix (born June 30, 1895 in Santiago de Chile , † May 25, 1915 in France) was a Chilean painter .

The son of French immigrants was one of the youngest students of Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor and was one of the painters of the Generación del Trece . He traveled to Europe in 1914 to take part in the First World War on the French side and died in the Loretto Battle at the age of almost twenty .

Bertrix's works have been exhibited and awarded several times in the Salón Oficial . In 1916 the Salón Francisco Conely honored him posthumously with a solo exhibition. Several of his paintings are in the possession of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes .
