Enrique Flórez
Enrique Flórez (born July 21, 1702 in Villadiego , Province of Burgos , † August 20, 1773 , Madrid ) was a Spanish historian and numismatist. In literature he also appears under the name Henrique Flórez de Setién y Huidobro .
Life
Flórez joined the Augustinian order in 1717 and was then professor of theology at the University of Alcala . There he wrote several writings such as Historia Compostelana or Espana sagrada . He also studied coinage and published several writings including España carpetana; medallas de las colonias, municipios, y pueblos antiguos de España (3 vols., Madrid, 1757).
