Enrique Moya (painter)

Enrique Moya Albial (* 1892 probably in Argentina, † around 1918 in Santiago de Chile ) was a Chilean painter .

Moya studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Santiago with Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor and is one of the painters' group of the Generación del Trece . He died as early as 1918 of the consequences of a traffic accident and left behind a numerically small but high quality work.

During his lifetime, only two exhibitions of his works took place in the Salón Oficial in Santiago (1910 and 1914). The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes showed in 2000 of his paintings in the exhibition Chile Cien Años Artes Visuales: Primer Período (1900-1950) Modelo y Representación . The portraits Retrato de mi Madre and Retrato de José Miguel Cruz and the pastel painting Cabeza de Niña are in the possession of the Pinacoteca of the Universidad de Concepción .
