Enriquillo Sánchez Mulet

Enriquillo Sánchez Mulet (born August 25, 1947 in Santo Domingo , † July 13, 2004 ) was a Dominican writer, journalist and university professor.

Sánchez attended the Instituto Escuela , continued his education in Puerto Rico, Canada and France and studied literature at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo , where he taught as a professor and was a member of the Centro de Estudios de la Realidad Dominicana . In addition to Miguel Alfonseca and René del Risco Bermúdez , he belonged to the El Puño group . With Guillermo Piña Conteras he founded the magazine ¡Ahora! In 1976 . for literature and national culture, which he directed from 1977 until 1979 when he was hired. He published a selection of his numerous newspaper articles in the volume Para uso oficial solamente .

In 1966 and 1971, Sánchez won awards at the La Máscara competitions . Also in 1966 he received an honorable mention at the first competition of Dominican prose authors, the first prize for poetry of the Movimiento Cultural Dominicano and the second prize for poetry and prose of the magazine La Noticia . In 1983 he was awarded the Premio Anual de Poesía Salomé Ureña de Henríquez and in 1985 in Nicaragua with the Premio Rubén Darío .
