Ensival
Ensival is a sub-municipality in the Belgian city of Verviers in the province of Liège in Wallonia . Ensival was an independent municipality until the municipal reform in 1977 . In 2013 Ensival had 4,762 inhabitants.
history
Belonging to the former Prince Diocese of Liège , Ensival was dependent on the Verviers and Theux courts and became an independent municipality in 1656. Located in the Weser valley, the water-dependent textile and paper industry settled there from the 17th century, similar to neighboring Verviers. Notre-Dame de l'Assomption church was built from 1860 on the site of a smaller church from the early 17th century.
