The Development Workers Act regulates the legal status of development workers (also: skilled workers in development service ) in Germany.

It determines the rights and obligations of development workers, the establishment and termination of employment, the legal status of active development workers and the legal status of previous development workers.

Development workers in accordance with the Development Aid Act can become any EU citizen who is at least 18 years old and who has no employment intentions in his development aid service and who is committed to working for a recognized development service provider for at least two years.
