Enzo Di Gianni

Enzo Di Gianni (actually Vincenzo Esposito , born June 26, 1908 in Naples , † March 3, 1975 in Rome ) was an Italian poet , songwriter , screenwriter and film director .

Life

Di Gianni published a volume of poetry in 1928 and devoted himself to music from 1935 as a writer of Neapolitan songs. Among his most famous creations are Nammuratella and Dimme addo staje . He also wrote plays, especially musical comedies.

In 1948 he ventured into new territory again when he wrote and produced a film based on his song of the same name with Montana Sacra, directed by Guido Brignone . The following year he co-directed Le due madonne alongside Giorgio Simonelli . By 1955, five films followed in sole responsibility, which were primarily designed for the southern provinces of Italy. Between 1963 and 1966 followed a series of four other films of comedic and frivolous nature.

Di Gianni was married to the singer Eva Nova since 1941 .
