The publisher epOs-Music publishes musicological dissertations, habilitation theses, and conference volumes. Normally, all books are not only offered in print (print version), but also in electronic form (PDF file on CD-ROM) and as an online version in Open Access . The versions correspond 1: 1 and can therefore be quoted.

The database system used enables “browsing” and searching. The pages can be printed individually. Multimedia content such as audio examples, musical footnotes and video sequences are available as CD / DVD supplements and on the Internet via integrated links.

The music publisher epOs-Music is an institution of the Music and Media Technology Research Center (FMT) at the University of Osnabrück . The legal entity of the publisher is the University of Osnabrück.

In 1993, musicological articles were published on the Internet in the field of music / musicology at the University of Osnabrück. The planning for the establishment of an electronic music publisher began in 1998. epOs-Music turned to the scientific public in 2001.

The epOs-Verlag is managed by the founders Bernd Enders and Bernhard Müßgens.
