Eparchy Halitsch

The Halitsch Eparchy (later Halitsch and Lemberg Eparchy ) was an Orthodox diocese from around 1134 to 1700 in Galicia in what is now Ukraine .

The eparchy was separated from the eparchy of Vladimir around 1134 . It included the territory of the Principality of Halitsch . Since 1303 the Bishop of Halitsch was Metropolitan of Galicia .

In 1540 the seat of the eparchy was moved to Lviv . 1596 eparchy remained after the Union of Brest orthodox and was only 1677/1700 in union .
