Epeoloides coecutiens is a bee from the family of Apidae .

The bees are 9 millimeters long. The head, thorax and the fourth to sixth abdomen segment, as well as the thighs ( femora ) of the females are colored black. The first three abdominal segments, the rails ( tibia ) and the tarsi are red. There are white hair spots in the middle of the face, as well as on the pronotum , the rear edge of the mesonotum , the middle of the scutellum , the anterior part of the pleura of the mesonotum, the sides of the first three tergites and the tibia. The fourth tergite is hairy black and has a white band on the rear edge. In males, the head, thorax, the lateral spots of the abdominal segments and the femora are black, otherwise yellow-red. They are hairy yellow. The edges of the tergites have inconspicuous bandages, the front ones of which are interrupted. The fifth sternite has a protruding, dense fringe of hair.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is widespread in Central, Northern and Eastern Europe. The animals fly from early July to mid-August. The animals are often found on the edge of swampy habitats, but also far away from them. They parasitize Macropis europaea and Macropis fulvipes
