Founded in 1972 and based in Austin, Texas , Epicor Software Corporation markets software products for medium-sized companies.

Epicor ERP software (Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP systems ) as "Epicor ERP", "Epicor Retail Suite" "Epicor HCM" and prophet 21 "in addition it has. Company history

In 1999, Epicor acquired Clientele, Inc. and then sold the Clientele CRM package. Epicor linked Clientele with Platinum for Windows, a front office / back office solution. In 2001, Epicor sold PFW (Platinum For Windows) to the Sage Group . Epicor was one of the first to adopt the .NET Framework technology in 2002 .

In 2011, Apax Partners bought both Epicor and Activant and merged the companies. Epicor's sales at the time of the merger were $ 840 million.

In 2012, Epicor acquired Solarsoft Business Systems, which was established in 2007 from the merger of CMS Software Inc. from Toronto and XKO Software Ltd from Great Britain. Epicor acquired Progressive Solutions in December 2012 through the acquisition of Solarsoft Business Systems. Epicor sells its products both directly and through a large global network of channel partners. Epicor's annual global customer conference, Insights, has over 4,000 attendees annually and is growing.

On October 7, 2013, Epicor named Joseph L. Cowan as President and CEO.

In July 2016, Apax Partners sold its stake in Epicor to KKR for an undisclosed amount .
