Epsilon Euskadi ee1
The Epsilon Euskadi ee1 is a Le Mans prototype of the LMP1 class developed by the Spanish racing team Epsilon Euskadi . The car made its debut at the Barcelona 1000km in 2008.
Races
In 2008 they contested the Le Mans Series . In the first three runs an ee1 was now at the start, in the finals at the Nürburgring and in Silverstone a second ee1 was used. At the 1000 km of Spa, Angel Burgueño and Miguel Ángel de Castro finished eleventh overall and seventh in the LMP 1 class. This was the best result in a very mixed season.
At the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2008 both ee1 started, but could not finish the race.
technology
The ee1 was designed by John Travis in 2007 . In the first drafts, the double roll bar was still present, as was required for open sports prototypes such as the Audi R10 TDI . Since the ACO, which organizes the 24 Hours of Le Mans, aimed to only allow closed prototypes from 2010, the design was changed and the vehicle was given a roof. Another change was the introduction of a high nose, as is common with formula vehicles.
In the 2008 racing season, the ee1 was equipped with a Judd GV5.5 S2 engine. When choosing tires, they relied on Michelin .
