Erasto Cortés Juarez
Erasto Cortés Juárez (born August 26, 1900 in Tepeaca , Puebla , † December 8, 1972 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican graphic artist.
biography
Cortés studied at the Academia de San Carlos and at the Coyoacán Open Air Painting School . He mainly taught himself his lithography techniques and printing processes with linoleum and wood . He created a large number of woodcuts, basically entire series with portraits of historical personalities and artists, of historical Mexican scenarios and images of landscapes in the states of Puebla. Cortés worked as a lecturer for many years.
He was a member of the Academia de Artes since 1970 .
