Ercan Ertuğ ( 1933 - May 16, 2005 ) was a Turkish football player and brief coach . The 1.81 m tall striker also played in two international matches for the Turkish national team.

Active career

Ertuğ played from the 1953/54 season at Beşiktaş Istanbul . In his first season he contributed to the championship title with 5 appearances (2 goals). When the Ataturk Cup was held for the first time , he scored 3 goals in 4 games. In the 1955/56 season he played 18 league games and scored 9 goals. The following season was less successful; he was only used 3 times (1 goal). After a detour in 1957/1958 in the German football league, where he played for Karlsruher SC (six games, two goals), he returned to Turkey and joined Hacettepe GK in 1959 until he ended his career in 1965.

National team career

After appearances in the U-18 national team , Ertuğ ran for the first time on June 26, 1955 for the Turkish national soccer team in the Mediterranean Cup . His second and last game was a friendly match with the Brazilian national soccer team on May 1, 1956 in the 0-1 defeat.

Coaching career

Ertuğ trained Hacettepe in the 1967/1968 season until his dismissal with a record of 9 wins, 7 draws and 8 defeats. The team was relegated at the end of the season without having achieved another win. In the cup , the club was eliminated against Ankara Demirspor .
