Earthquake in northwest Baotou, Inner Mongolia 849

The 849 earthquake in northwest Baotou, Inner Mongolia, occurred on October 24, 849 during the Tang Dynasty in northwest Baotou , Inner Mongolia , China. The Jiu Tangshu reports in its 37th chapter (juan) of several thousand dead, the Xin Tangshu , chap. 35, of several tens (thousand) dead.

Based on the damage it caused, it was possible to estimate that the quake had a magnitude of 7.
