The Archdiocese of Pisa ( Latin Archidioecesis Pisana , Italian Arcidiocesi di Pisa ) is an archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy with its seat in Pisa .

history

The diocese was established in the 4th century and raised on April 21, 1092 by Pope Urban II with the papal bull Cum universis to the archbishopric with the seat of the metropolitan of the republic-Pisan province. The Suffragan Dioceses were called Mariana , Aléria , Nebbio and Sagone (all in Corsica ). The Archbishop of Pisa also bears the title " Primate of Sardinia and Corsica".
