The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Foggia-Bovino ( lat. : Archidioecesis Fodiana-Bovinensis , ital. : Arcidiocesi di Foggia-Bovino ) is in Italy situated Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in Foggia .
history
On June 25, 1855 by Pope Pius IX. the Diocese of Foggia was established from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Troy and placed directly under the Holy See . On September 29, 1933 the Diocese of Foggia was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Benevento as a suffragan by the Consistorial Congregation with the decree Iam pridem .
On April 30, 1979, the Diocese of Foggia was raised to an archdiocese by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Sacrorum Antistites . On September 30, 1986, the Bovino diocese was attached to the Archdiocese of Foggia .
