Bovino diocese

The Diocese of Bovino ( lat. : Dioecesis Bovinensis ) was one in Italy located Roman Catholic diocese based in Bovino .

history

The Bovino diocese was established in the 5th century. The first bishop was John.

On September 30, 1986, the Bovino diocese was annexed to the Archdiocese of Foggia by the Congregation for Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis .

The diocese of Bovino was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Benevento as a suffragan . It comprised 10 parishes and was 396 km² in size.
