The Archdiocese of Sassari ( Latin Archidioecesis Turritanus , Italian Arcidiocesi di Sassari ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy , located in Sardinia . The bishopric is in the city of Sassari .

It is the Metropolitan Diocese of the Ecclesiastical Province of Sassari in the church region of Sardinia , its suffragan dioceses are the dioceses of Alghero-Bosa , Ozieri and Tempio-Ampurias .

history

The diocese of Sassari dates back to the 5th century. In 1073 it was raised to an archbishopric.
